Cloth art doll with Suffragette sash and Edwardian dress handmade by Willowynn
A small fabric doll designed and handmade in Australia by Margeaux Davis from Willowynn. This is a one of a kind art doll, handmade from carefully salvaged second hand and vintage fabric.
Made from mocha-coloured cotton remnants, this doll wears a white Edwardian-style blouse and long grey linen skirt with a petticoat and black lace-up boots (painted on). Draped over her shoulder is a removable 'Votes for Women' suffragette sash.
Her dark brown hair (wool) is worn in an elegant low bun and is carefully hand-stitched into place.
She is firmly stuffed with wool and her limbs are attached to her body with movable button joints. Her dress is not removable. Each doll bears a small 'Willowynn' logo hand-drawn onto the inside of one leg, and comes with a small signed, dated and letter-pressed certificate of authenticity.
This doll is intended as a treasure for display only and is not suitable as a toy for young children; due to delicate hand stitching, hair and small buttons. This is an entirely artist-made cloth doll with imperfections and visible stitching. Though I have made her with the utmost care and attention to detail, spending many hours perfecting her - please be aware that her limbs, head, hair and clothing are hand-stitched onto her body and will come loose if pulled repeatedly or handled roughly.
This doll cannot stand unassisted and the last photo is to show example of the doll's form and is not the exact doll in this listing.
Length = 20cm (8in)
Your doll will be carefully packaged in a lidded, recycled cardboard gift box which I have made myself, and will be mailed with Australia Post (includes signature on delivery with an option for tracking).
